STEVENSVILLE, Maryland (WTVR) — A construction worker has to be rescued after falling off the westbound lanes of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge.

The 51-year-old contractor was hit in the head by a five gallon bucket of paint while working on a catwalk underneath a span of the bridge. He fell several feet.

Rescue crews had to drop a gurney down to the man and hoist him to safety.

The man suffered non-life threatening injuries. He was alert and conscious when he was taken to the hospital.
