Pocahontas Premieres concert series features Richmond Youth Symphony, The Embers

Pocahontas Premieres is a concert series hosted at Pocahontas State Park’s spacious amphitheatre.

June 2
Richmond Youth Symphony. Enjoy a free concert by the Richmond Symphony’s flagship youth orchestras. Gates open at 6 p.m.
7 p.m. – free

June 7
An Evening with the Embers. This legendary beach-music band hails from North Carolina. Among others, its hits include “I Love Beach Music” and “Far Away Places.” Gates open at 6 p.m.
7-10 p.m. – $

June 28
An Evening with Casper. America’s premier party band, Casper, is based in Richmond and has a musical repertoire that covers great dance music from many decades and genres, including Motown, rock, funk, swing and country. Gates open at 5 p.m.
7-10 p.m. – $

July 19
An Evening with the Eagles Tribute Band, Hotel California. The original Eagles tribute band, Hotel California prides itself on creating the illusion that you are listening to the real thing. They’ve shared the stage with the Doobie Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Styx, REO Speedwagon and many others, and have performed in Dubai, Japan, India and throughout North America. Food concessions and adult beverages (I.D. required) are available. Gates open at 6 p.m.
7-10 p.m. – $

July 26
The Seldom Scene. The Seldom Scene is bluegrass band formed in 1971 in Bethesda, Md. It is regarded as one of the finest and most progressive bluegrass bands. Opening act TBA. Gates open at 6 p.m.
7-10 p.m. – $

September 13
ZOSO, the Ultimate Led Zeppelin Experience. The band recreates the music, magic and mystery of a Zeppelin concert. If you missed Led Zeppelin live in the ’70s or are looking for a chance to relive the Hammer of the Gods phenomenon, don’t miss this show. Visit http://www.zosoontour.com to learn more. September 14
The Richmond Symphony. Bring the whole family and listen to great classical music in the great outdoors. Gates open at 5 p.m.
6 p.m. – free

Unless otherwise noted, Pocahontas Premieres events take place rain or shine. Some events are free except for a $5 parking fee. Otherwise, tickets purchased in advance cover parking and are only $10. Save money and buy a season ticket for only $60. Tickets bought on the day of show are $10 plus a $5 parking fee. Those 10 and under get in free.
