Animals in dorms. An exception could be made for furry friends to support college students suffering from separation anxiety. Some government officials say pets should be allowed to emotionally support freshmen. They believe the animals, mostly dogs, help young students cope with life changes. According to CNN – the new idea comes after the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development sued the University of Nebraska on the behalf of Brittany Hamilton. Hamilton says she her dog in her apartment, to assist with easing her anxiety and depression. Unless the school makes a deal with the government, the case will be heading to trial soon.
