DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va  (WTVR) -- A dip in temperatures this week had many farmers in our area opting to cover up their crop.

Workers like Todd Adams at the Adams Acres Strawberry patch in Dinwiddie County said they weren't taking any chances when they heard frost could be creeping over the region.

"Some of the strawberries we wrapped them up and covered to protect them from the frost and the blueberries and strawberries we watered them with frost protected sprinklers." Adams said.

Workers also told CBS 6 News that they did not expect any damage to their crops from the frost. In fact, they said a sudden change on the way could help more berries ripen.
