CHESTERFIELD, Va. (WTVR)—Monday afternoon a vehicle driven by an elderly woman hit a convenience store, and damaged the building, police said.

This afternoon police said an elderly woman, in her 80s, hit the gas and jolted forward into the Circle K convenience store located at Winterfield Road and Midlothian Turnpike.

Police said load bearing walls have been compromised and the area around the building has been blocked off until someone can come and shore up the area.

There are charges are pending, police said. The driver was shaken up but suffered no injuries.
