WASHINGTON, D.C. (WTVR) - House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R - 7th District) is supporting a new bill that could give workers some flexibility when it comes to trading overtime for comp time.

The Working Families Flexibility Act would allow private-sector employees to cash out their comp time for any reason, at any time. Employers would have 30 days to fulfill the request.

Supporters say it would empower working moms and dads by giving them more control and flexibility. Those opposed say employers could take advantage and grant more comp time rather than overtime pay.

The bill now goes to the Senate for a vote.
