(WTVR) -- Olympic gold medalist and Virginia native Gabby Douglas isn't just at the top of her sport, she's one of the most influential athletes too.
According to Forbes.com, Douglas is ranked eighth among the nation's most influential athletes. The results come from "E-Poll Market Research" after asking sports fans across the nation.
You don't have to be at the top of your game to be influential though. Recently released NFL quarterback Tim Tebow took the top spot. They say his influence comes from his Christian faith and 2.2 million twitter followers.
Olympic champions Michael Phelps and Usain Bolt took the second and third spots respectively.
