HOPEWELL, Va. (WTVR) - Hopewell police spent a part of their Saturday educating residents about gangs and gang-related crimes.

The forum at Hopewell High School was held to educate the community on how to identify gangs, as well as to be proactive in crime prevention.

Police Chief John Keohane told CBS 6 earlier this week that no community is free from gangs and that graffiti can be found around town if you know where to look for it.

"It's such a destructive path to be on, so that's why we're having this awareness and prevention so hopefully we can save our young kids to live a productive life," Keohane said.
