DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - A memorial service was held at the Mount Poole Baptist Church in Dinwiddie on Saturday to honor four officers killed in the line of duty, including Master Trooper Junius Walker and Lieutenant James Edward "Bo" Weaver.

The memorial was also held to raise money for the Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office Scholarship Fund.

"We've got to get into the business today that we tell our children," Stephen Pugh, Dinwiddie County Sheriff Chaplain, said.  "We have no choice but to honor law enforcement.  You have no choice."

Master Trooper Junius walker was killed in March during a traffic stop along Interstate 85 in Dinwiddie.

"It has been nine Thursdays since my brother died," Mary McLin, Walker's sister, said."We know my brother was a Christian. We know he's with Jesus, but we just don't want to turn him loose yet."

It's just as painful for the family of Lieutenant James Edward "Bo" Weaver, who was shot to death in 2005 with his own service weapon during a struggle with a juvenile prisoner in Petersburg.

"I thank God for his life and his legacy that he leaves behind because I see him in each of you that are here today," Calvin Weaver, Weaver's brother, said.

Church leaders say they've raised more than $1,300 for the Dinwiddie County Sheriff's Office Scholarship Fund.  The money will help pay for college tuition for at least two Dinwiddie High School students who will graduate this year.
