(WTVR) — As Prom Season approaches, many high school Juniors and Seniors will be preparing for a night of fun and memories.
The W82TEXT Team of CBS 6 & The Law Offices of Emroch & Kilduff, along with representatives of the Virginia State Police force will join the student and faculty leaders at Community High on Tuesday, May 7 at 10 a.m. to help provide information on just how dangerous distracted driving can be.
Official W82TEXT thumb-bands will be distributed to each student to serve as a visual reminder to drivers to keep their eyes on the road down and their hands on the wheel.
W82TEXTis a community service campaign sponsored by of CBS 6 & The Law Offices of Emroch & Kilduff. W82TEXT is geared to reduce distracted driving accidents through on-site, on-air and on-line education.
Drivers are encouraged to take the W82TEXT Pledge available online at W82TEXT.com or via Facebook.
Hundreds of Richmond area drivers have taken the pledge and over 3,000 people follow W82TEXT via social media.
