Man killed in Chesterfield home; police shooting ruled justified

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A December 2012 shooting in which Chesterfield Police killed in a man inside his own home has been ruled justified, according to a news release from police.

According to the county, a multijurisdictional grand jury and an internal police investigation found the shooting of 38-year-old Brian McDanielto be justified.

Police responded to McDaniel’s Millcreek Drive home on Dec. 10, 2012, to serve two felony domestic assault warrants. A standoff ensued at the home.

Police said they shot and killed McDaniel after they saw him point a gun at them.
