(CNN) – French authorities said three people are under investigation over the publication of vacation photos of Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge.

A magazine publisher, a photographer and a regional newspaper are being investigated for invasion of privacy.

Topless photos of Catherine, wife of Britian’s Prince William, appeared in the French edition of “Closer.” Other photos of her in a bikini were published in La Provence, a regional daily newspaper in France, in September.
