RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Relatives of a man gunned down in Whitcomb Court Tuesday night are remembering the 27-year-old.

Police said they found William Jackson shot dead and lying in the middle of Whitcomb Street around 10 p.m.

Jackson's uncle says his heart is broken by the senseless act of violence.

"I'm just truly saddened by the events of last night. I love him and I will miss him dearly," said Hampton Jackson.

Police said they do not believe the shooting was random.
