HANOVER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- The woman accused of attacking one of her children with an ax, then setting her home on fire earlier this year in Hanover, will remain behind bars.

In addition to being denied bond again, Kimberly Shepperson waived her right to a preliminary hearing during a court appearance Thursday afternoon.

She said very little in court, only answering one question with a simple, "yes."

Shepperson is charged with aggravated malicious wounding and arson in connection with the February incident at her Mechanicsville home.

Court documents show Shepperson admitted to the crime, saying she intended to kill herself and her three kids.
