RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Richmond city leaders have a new plan that will make it easier for restaurants to offer outdoor seating, just in time for summer.

A city ordinance passed last year allows businesses to get a permit and set up shop on the cities sidewalks. The permit costs $150 and the new rules are written so that restaurants can be sidewalk running--up and ready--within ten days.

There are some rules that apply; owner have to put the patio furniture tables and chairs inside nightly.
