FAIRFAX COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Authorities said a Virginia mother who disappeared with her 5-year-old son last week has been spotted in Las Vegas.

Detectives are desperately trying to find Rebecca Serafin and her son, Cameron.

Detectives think the child’s mother has changed her appearance and run off with the boy after he was not returned to his father on Sunday, April 7.

Fairfax police said the pair were seen on Thursday, April 11, at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas around 10 p.m. The mother and son had arrived on a flight from Birmingham and could be headed for Los Angeles, according to police.

Official, who are worried about the boy’s welfare, said the mother and son may now be using the last name Love. A warrant was issued last week for the arrest of 32-year-old, who has been charged with custodial interference.

Serafin is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs between 120 and 130 pounds. She was seen on airport surveillance video wearing a black hat, a dark jacket and blue jeans. She was carrying two large pieces of luggage.

The child is 3 feet 5 inches tall and weighs about 40 pounds. Cameron was  wearing a red hooded sweatshirt, black and white pajama type pants and a gray, train engineer’s type hat.
