CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Police are investigating a violent home invasion that has neighbors in one section of Chesterfield County on edge.
Police said four suspects entered a residence in the Squire Hill Apartments, located in the 4000 block of Chippendale Drive, at about 5:00 a.m. Saturday.
Bridget Messick lives four doors away from where she says her neighbors were the victims of a violent home invasion.
"Oh my God," Messick said. "That happened so close to my home."
According to Chesterfield Police, the four suspects, including two women, are said to be in their 20's.
Investigators say the suspects entered the residence and stole an undisclosed amount of property from three victims.
However, they would not tell us what was taken out or what led up to the attack. Police did say that they believe the suspects may have known the victims.
During the robbery we are told the suspects displayed handguns and assaulted the victims. All three victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries.
This is not the first time something like this has happened in the apartment complex. At one time, neighbors say the Squire Hill Apartments had a history of violence, but the image has faded away over the years.
"But then all of the sudden here in the last two years, a lot of crime.... it's more domestic violence going up," Edward, who did not give out his last name, said.
Edward said he moved out of the country when crime was reportedly on the rise, but he decided to move back when he heard the area was getting better.
"To me, nobody should be fearful of the fact that you got to worry about every hour of the day," Edward said.
What police say happened early Saturday morning has Edward on edge.
"It's time to move," Edward said. "It's getting a little too close to home."
