RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A Richmond man was sentenced to seven years in prison for stealing President Obama’s audio-video equipment. Eric Brown, 48, was arrested in November for the Oct. 2011 theft.

As part of the sentencing agreement, Brown will not be prosecuted for other thefts he was accused of committing. Brown faced up to 10 years in prison.

In Oct. 2011, investigators said Brown stole a truck from a Henrico hotel near Virginia Center Commons. That truck contained audio equipment and a teleprompter President Obama planned to use during a stop in Central Virginia.

Court documents revealed the stolen truck also contained a laptop and other equipment bearing the Presidential seal, according to a news release.
