RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR)–A Richmond Public School bus driver was charged after a wreck, with children on board.

Richmond Police said that at 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, the bus was traveling on the Belt Boulevard, on the ramp to MIdlothian Turnpike eastbound. A Mustang traveling in foront of the bus stopped at a yield sign.

The school bus didn’t slow down, said police, and it rear-ended the Mustang. The bus driver, Gwendolyn Whitefield, age 68, was not injured.

None of the four children were injured. The driver of the Mustang asked to be checked out and complained of a headache. The driver was later taken to Chippenham Hospital.

There was damage to both vehicles. The scene was cleared an hour later.
