Men killed in fiery interstate crash were from New York

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Four men killed in a fiery crash on Interstate 85 in Brunswick County were from New York City. Virginia State Police have only released the names of two of the four victims, however a family member provided the remaining two names to CBS 6.

Virginia State Police spokeswoman Sgt. Michelle Anaya said Davindra "Danny" Jailall, 32, was driving the 2011 Toyota Corolla that caught fire after it was hit head-on by a pick-up truck early Tuesday morning.

Jailall and another victim, whose name has not yet been released, were not married and had no children, according to a family member.

A back-seat passenger was identified by police as 51-year-old Krishna "Camble" Maniram.

Another back-seat passenger was identified as 40-year-old Seelal Rampersad, who leaves behind two children.

Police identified the front seat passenger as 34-year-old Rajendra Jailall.

In a phone interview with CBS 6, Maniram's mother-in-law said Maniram left behind a wife and two adult children.

She said the men were headed to North Carolina to visit friends at the time of the crash.

Maniram's mother-in-law said the family is still waiting for the bodies to be released and returned to New York. She said the family would like to perform a Hindu burial soon.

The driver of the truck that drove the wrong way and caused the crash was also killed.

Police identified him as 70-year-old Walter Edward Skinner. A neighbor told CBS 6 Skinner had history of health and sleep problems.Why he was driving on the wrong side of Interstate 85 near mile marker 26 remains under investigation. Toxicology reports can take weeks.

The crash, which happened around 5:45 a.m., is one of the deadliest in recent Central Virginia history.
