ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Search warrants reveal several items state police seized from the home of the couple believed to have set over 70 fires on Virginia's Eastern Shore.

The items seized from Tonya Bundick and Charles Smith's home include a plastic gas can, several pairs of boots, a pair of tan coveralls and two computers.

The warrants also show other items discovered inside a van, including several pairs of gloves, a lighter, jackets and towels.

For now, Bundick and Smith have only been charged in connection with an arson Monday night in Melfa. However, the pair are expected to face additional charges.

State police said they are confident that Bundick and her fiance are responsible for the majority of the 77 arson cases that have plagued Accomack County since last November.

Court documents show that Bundick and Smith were caught in the act Monday night after the pair was stopped not far away from the arson.

An arrest warrant shows Smith offered up a confession to other arson cases that occurred in the county.

Those documents also show that Bundick was the alleged driver who dropped Smith off and then picked him up.

Bundick was appointed a public defender during a brief court appearance on Wednesday afternoon. Smith has already secured a lawyer.

Smith and Bundick are scheduled to appear in court in May.
