Louisville Cardinal player breaks leg during game
INDIANAPOLIS (WTVR) – Louisville Cardinal player Kevin Ware broke his leg during his team’s Elite Eight game with Duke on Sunday afternoon.
According to a report on CBSSports.com, Ware broke his leg after he landed “awkwardly while contesting Tyler Thornton’s shot in front of Louisville’s bench.”
The injury brought Ware’s teammates and coaches to tears.
Louisville, up by just a single point at the time of the first half injury, went on to defeat Duke by 22 points to advance to the Final Four.
