(WTVR) – The Obama Administration is unveiling new rules to cut gasoline emissions.

The plan is designed to clean up the air, but there is debate over how much it will cost.

The Environmental Protection Agency is proposing new rules to clean up gasoline believing it will lead to cleaner air.

The standards would reduce sulfur in gas by more than 60 percent and reduce nitrogen oxide by more than 60 percent.

The EPA claims it will cost less than a penny a gallon to adopt the new standards.

But the oil industry fighting the changes, gas companies say the rules would make the refining process more expensive and make the refining process more expensive.
