CULPEPER COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Culpeper police are trying to find a man they say scammed an area Walmart store last week.

The Culpeper Police Department said a man returned what was assumed to be a computer tablet in a sealed box — and received a cash refund — at Walmart on March 8. However, when store employees later opened the box, they did not find a tablet, but other items to mimic the product’s weight.

Police said after returning the box, the man then alleged walked over to the electronics department and stole a video gaming unit.

Police said the suspect is described as a light-skinned black male believed to be between 20 and 30 years old. He also had a beard, wore glasses and had medium-length brown hair.
