CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va (WTVR) – Auditions for the 2013 Senior Idol competition will be held on Tuesday, April 9 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Lucy Corr Village in Chesterfield.

The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield and the Chesterfield County Senior Advocate are looking for seniors ages 55 and over who live in Chesterfield County or the Greater Richmond and Tri-cities areas to audition.

Contestants can be singers, dancers, musicians, magicians or any senior with a talent to show. Senior Idol participants will be judged on entertainment value as well as their talent for a chance to win a top prize of $300.

Second and third place winners will receive $200 and $100 respectively.

Twelve acts will advance to the live finale on May 17 at Victory Tabernacle Church in Midlothian.

The 3rd annual Senior Idol not only highlights the talents of local seniors but also benefits the Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield’s service for the elderly. The Shepherd’s Center of Chesterfield provides free and accompanied transportation, home repairs, and lifelong learning programs for senior citizens.

Entry forms for the 2013 Senior Idol competition can be found at Chesterfield.gov and shepctrchesterfield.org or by calling (804) 768-7878.
