Midlothian Turnpike back open after accident

CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) — Drivers experienced some delays Saturday morning on the Midlothian Turnpike.

Chesterfield County Police say the intersection at Midlothian Turnpike and Coalfield Road was closed until just after noon due to a traffic crash that happened at 12:48 a.m.

The crash caused some downed power lines.  Dominion officials had estimate that all repairs would be finished by noon.

If you’re traveling westbound from Route 288, you will be directed to turn right onto Charter Colony, left onto Woolridge Road and then back to Midlothian Turnpike.

If you’re traveling eastbound, you will be directed to turn right onto Crowder Road, left onto Westgate Road and then back to Midlothian Turnpike via Sycamore Road or Winterfield Road.
