RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — A Petersburg man was arrested in connection with a shooting in Richmond Thursday afternoon.

Richmond police said 21-year-old Jawan Lee was charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, both felonies.

Lee is accused of shooting a man at the Woodland Crossing apartment complex in the 3400 block of Walmsley Boulevard around 3:45 Thursday.

Detectives said Lee ran off after the shooting, but that officers captured him not far from the crime scene with the help of Chesterfield officers.

A male victim in his thirties remains in critical condition at the VCU Medical Center, according to police.
