A chunk of chilly air is locked in place across the area.  This is producing frequent clouds, and highs in the 40s at a time of year when mid 50s are more typical.

Temperatures will moderate to around 50° Monday and Tuesday.  Although below normal, these temps are still well above freezing.  This is a factor that will play a key role in our mid-week storm.  More information on the storm can be found here.

Although precipitation levels have been above normal this year so far, the amounts of snow for the winter are only about one-third of what is typical at this point.  The mid-week storm has the potential to knock at least some of that deficit out.
