RICHMOND, VA (WTVR) -- Where will Redskins fans park when the team comes to town for training camp beginning in July?

The answer to that question appears to still be up in the air.

Just ask the average driver about parking conditions in the city and answers are quick and candid.

"It is terrible," Mason Goodman of New Kent County said. "It makes me want to stay in the country."

"It is awful," Thane Dunn, a Richmond taxi driver, said.  "I just circled the block four, five times just so I can pay my utility bill,"  Dunn said.

With parking comments like that on normal days, what will it be like when the Redskins training camp debuts in the city in June.

CBS 6 asked the Department of Public Works what plan the city has in place regarding parking for that time.

Sharon North, communications director for the Department, told CBS 6 no official plan is in place yet, but emphasized they are talking about various options.

"It is going to have a major impact on life in this area," City Council President Charles Samuels said.

Samuels said that shuttle buses and parking lots need to included in any solution.

"There will be shuttles taking people to and from parking lots they'll be direction signs showing people where you can park," Samuels added.

Some nearby businesses are already planning to monitor their parking lots. Workers at Bowtie Cinema told CBS 6 off camera there is talk of hiring people to monitor their lot to make sure it remains for customers only.
