I-95 driver charged in city shooting
RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – Police pulled over a driver on Interstate 95 Tuesday morning and charged him in connection with a Sunday shooting. Tyriek J. Hayes, 21, is charged with use of a firearm in commission of a felony. Other charges against Hayes are pending, according to Richmond Police.
Police said Hayes was involved in a Sunday afternoon shooting on North 22nd Street in Richmond. The shooting victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Richmond Police along with the U.S. Marshal’s Regional Fugitive Task Force and State Police stopped Hayes near exit 83 on northbound I-95 Tuesday morning. He was arrested without incident, police said.
