HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) - Capital Murder has now been added to the list of charges filed against 19-year-old Jamon Burroughs. Burroughs is accused in the Jan. 28 shooting death of store owner Farooq Bhimdi.
"The Grand Jury returned true bills for capital murder, burglary, robbery and two related firearm indictments," according to a release from the Henrico Commonwealth Attorney's Office.
Police said Bhimdi, 64, was killed during a robbery while working behind the counter of the Expressway Convenience Store on Mechanicsville Turnpike.
During his arraignment Burroughs was appointed defense attorney Theodore Bruns. Burroughs is due back in court March 28.
