Richmond police chase ends with crash — and arrest

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- A man has been arrested after a police pursuit ended in a crash in Richmond Friday morning.

Willie Vincent and others at Brothers Automotive said it was business as usual along Belt Boulevard until just after 11 a.m.  That's when they spotted e a police pursuit in high gear.

"I thought the van was going to turn over, it was really really leaning," Vincent said outside his shop.

A few seconds later the pursuit headed towards Forest Hill Avenue, but within a matter of minutes and a few miles, it was over.

Police said the driver, 27-year-old Ryan Matthew Pecket, of the 3200 block of Midlothian Turnpike, is facing multiple charges. They include felony eluding, hit and run, operating a motor vehicle on a suspended license and a few other traffic infractions.

A passenger in the SUV was not charged.
