RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) — A North Carolina woman is going to prison for bringing a 13-year-old girl to Central Virginia to work as a prostitute.

Rachael Masingene was sentenced to  36 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release by a US district court judge in Richmond Wednesday.

Masingene and another woman met the girl in Miami, Florida, last year and persuaded her to come with them to work as prostitutes in Charlotte.

The teen’s family and police posted fliers when she went missing.

The trio then traveled to Henrico several months later where they were eventually caught by police while staying at a hotel in the West End.
