RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Governor Bob McDonnell's education reform plan is ready to be signed into law. The senate passed the measure yesterday.

The plan raises the probation period for teachers from three years up to five years, giving them more time to be mentored.

Also under the proposal teachers who receive one or more unsatisfactory performance evaluations would be considered incompetent.
