HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) – A Henrico judge suspended ten months of a 12-month sentence for a former Henrico Sheriff’s Office employee charged with a second DUI in the last five years.

Patricia Baran was arrested in December after a traffic accident. Police said her blood alcohol level was .22 — nearly three times the legal limit.

In court on Monday, the arresting officers testified they also found 18 small bags filled with white powder in Baran’s car. When tested, the powder in the bags came back as an illegal substance.

The judge certified a possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute charge against Baran to the grand jury.

Baran’s driver’s license was suspended for three years. She is due back in court in April to face the cocaine charge.

She will be allowed to remain free on bond while her attorney appeals the DUI conviction.
