NEW YORK CITY (WTVR) -- A city council looks to ban another item from its stores and restaurants. First it was cigarettes, then big sodas and now Styrofoam.

The standard take-out or leftover box creates its own set of toxic leftovers when it's put in a landfill.

The New York City Council says it also costs the city big money to move all of that Styrofoam trash to landfills outside of the city.

If restaurants make the switch to recyclable boxes, businesses will have to foot the bill for more expensive plastic. Some small business owners think it's a good idea.
