(CNN) — We don’t know what it is about 2013, but this year is resurrecting music acts left and right.

Fall Out Boy, which went on hiatus in 2009, has announced that they’re returning to the music scene with a new single, album and tour.

“[W]hen we were kids the only thing that got us through most days was music. [It’s] why we started fall out boy in the first place,” the group said in a message on their website. “[T]his isn’t a reunion because we never broke up. we needed to plug back in and make some music that matters to us.”

They’re starting with a new single called “My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up),” which already has an accompanying music video featuring 2 Chainz.

The track is the first single from their upcoming album, “Save Rock and Roll,” which will drop globally on May 6 and 7. The Chicago band’s also embarking on a “Save Rock and Roll” tour, which is kicking off in Milwaukee on May 14 and winding down in Nashville on June 30. Tickets go on sale February 8 and 9.

“The future of fall out boy,” the band said in their statement, “starts now.”
