‘Freak’ sand pile accident kills 7-year-old

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas (KENS) – Texas officials said a “freak accident” killed a seven-year-old boy Friday.

Authorities responded to a call that the boy had been buried in the sand by his younger brother at a horse farm near San Antonio.

The older child was flown to a local hospital, but he did not survive.

Police said the children’s parents operate the horse ranch and were on site at the time of the accident.
