RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – A fast-moving upper-level storm system called a “Clipper” sped toward us from the northwest Wednesday, and has been swinging over the northern half of Virginia overnight into Thursday morning. This clipper is quite typical for us, producing relatively low snowfall totals of three inches or less for most of you in central Virginia.

Snow falling into the deep, dry air-mass that settled in place this week for us is the powdery kind, like flour, which is totally different from the wet, sticky snow from the end of last week.

Periods of light snow showers will continue this morning in central Virginia, tracking from the north to the south. No significant additional accumulations are expected, but you should get a fresh “dusting.”
