(WTVR) -- The number of people buying homes is on the rise, including right here in Virginia.

A new report from George Mason University shows the number of sales in each quarter of 2012 in Central Virginia surpassed those from 2011.

The Richmond Association of Realtors said the market improvement gained significant momentum during the past year, which means there has been increased demand in the region.
