Richmond, VA (WTVR) – This week is the first time many Central Virginians have driven on wet, snowy roads.  And even though the snow has melted away, what’s left can still damage your car.

AAA say chemicals and sand put down to keep the roads from icing can damage the undercarriage and paint on your car. So you need to make sure you wash your car after it snow.

You also need to look out for potholes. They tend to pop up after snow and can damage your tires.

Experts also say you should check your windshield wipers. The snow and ice can damage them and stop them from working properly.
