Virginia residents could one day soon be banned from smoking in public places like parks.
Lawmakers at the General Assembly have advanced legislation, that if passed, would allow individual counties and cities to prohibit smoking in public places like parks and even beaches.
The measure still needs to be passed by the house and senate.
