RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - The family of a Richmond man found shot to death on New Year’s Eve in the East End is once again asking for the public’s help.

Michael Excell Alexander was pronounced dead on the scene New Year’s Eve at the corner of 29th and Newbourne Street near Creighton Court.

On Friday his widow Tamere Alexander stood at the corner where her husband died and asked for help finding his killer.

Police investigators now say Alexander was hanging out with friends in the area on New Year’s Eve, but would not release further details about what led to the shooting.

Detectives did say a large crowd of people were in the area when the shooting occurred. They said they believe someone saw something that could aid their investigation.

On the night of the shooting, two men wearing all black were seen fleeing the scene after it happened.
