Seattle Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said FedEx Field was horrible during an interview on ESPN Radio in Seattle.

The field has been criticized by NFL analysts and media members, but this was Carroll’s first comments on the field condition.

“It was horrible. It’s a horrible field. It’s as bad as a field can get for being dry. It’s too bad. Really It’s too bad,” Carroll said on ESPN 710 in Seattle. “And we deserve better. So I hope something will [happen], for the other teams that got to play there. It just was worn out. There was a lot of slipping and all that kind of stuff.”

When asked about it  being worse than Soldier Field was in Chicago a few years ago, Carroll said it was.

“This one was real sheer and there was dirt on top of the grass and all,” he said. “There just wasn’t good footing and you’ve seen some problems there. It just was worn out. There was a lot of slipping and all that kind of stuff,” Carroll said, adding that it didn’t put one team at a disadvantage because both were affected by it. “… But we should expect to see a better field at that time of year.”

The comments come the same day RG3 was getting tests on his knee after he was injured in the 4th quarter.

During his final press conference of the season, coach Mike Shanahan confirmed Griffin underwent an MRI on Sunday night, but he said the results were “open to interpretation” due to previous injuries to the ACL and MCL in Griffin’s right knee.

Griffin tore his ACL in 2009 while he was still at Baylor University.
