RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) -- Now that the Redskins season has come to an end, some fans are starting to think about training camp.

The 2013 Redskins Training Camp will be in Richmond for the first time - adding to the excitement.

While next season seems like a long way away, in reality its only about seven months.

Currently, the site behind the Science Museum of Virginia is nothing more than a pile of dirt -- leading many to wonder if the Redskins training facility be done in time.

"This project will have its challenges," Gib DeShazo, owner of Emerald Construction, told CBS 6.

While DeShazo is not affiliated with this project, he has worked on large scale projects like this in the past.

"I was on the construction team that built The Diamond. It went until the last day - we were cleaning and putting in seats on that last day so this will definitely will be one that goes until the last minute," DeShazo said.

DeShazo said the biggest worry he would have about getting the project done in time is the weather.

"We're getting into the winter, you are getting ready to start foundations in the winter which is not ideal that could certainly delay the project," DeShazo said.

While surveying the site with CBS 6, DeShazo said the project had many positives including the dirt and size of the space. This is why DeShazo is not sounding any alarms.

"It's a tight time frame but contractors are used to working under tight time frames," DeShazo said.
