Living The Dream, Honoring Dr. King

RICHMOND, Va (WTVR): Richmonders will celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. a bit early this year. The annual Living The Dream – Mass Meeting comes on Sunday, January 6th to avoid any conflicts with inaugural events in Washington D.C. 

The Mass Meeting is a time to recognized Dr. Kings’ contributions, the program starts 3:30 Sunday at Maggie Walker Governor’s School, 1000 North Lombardy Street. Acclaimed Actor and Playwright Mike Wiley will present “Tired Souls, the story of the Montgomery Bus Boycott of 1955. It is free and open to the public.

Other Living The Dream Events include: Youth Forum, Saturday, January 19th, 10am at Virginia Union University; The Emerging Youth Leaders Forum, 10am, at Peter Paul Development Center and the King Holiday Worship Service, Monday, January 21st, 1pm, at Sharon Baptist Church, Mr. Jack Gravely is the Guest Speaker.
