CINCINNATI, Oh. (WTVR) - Two homeless men rushed to help a Cincinnati business owner who was being robbed.

Their fight with the robber was caught on surveillance camera.

The men, who didn't know each other, say they heard somebody yelling for help Monday and ran over to take down the would-be robber.

They say they didn't think about the suspect potentially having a gun, they just followed their instincts.

The two gave television crews more details about their reaction, but didn't want to be identified.

"Somebody needed assistance and I'm not going to standby and watch somebody be assaulted like that," said one of the men.

"When we got them separated, he ran through the parking lot and through the alleyway, so that is where the other gentlemen came in to play," said the second helper.

One of the men followed the suspect and was able to hold him until police arrived to arrest him.

The two homeless men say being called heroes is new to them- they're used to being called "dirty" and "mentally ill".

They say they hope their actions will remind people that you can't always judge a book by its cover.
