CLEMENTON, N.J. (KYW) — Three officers were hospitalized in a police department shooting in New Jersey Friday morning.

Gloucester Township police said it happened when a domestic violence suspect was being processed.

Police say there was a violent confrontation, he got his hands on a police gun and shot at police.

One police officer hit below his bullet proof vest is in stable condition. Two other officers were hospitalized with minor injuries.

Police said officers returned fire, killing the suspect.
