Police investigate murder-suicide in Albemarle County

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WTVR) -- Police in Albemarle County are investigating after a standoff turned into a murder-suicide.

Police said when they arrived at a home Wednesday afternoon they found a 44-year-old man pointing a gun at officers.

As officers fired their weapons, the man ran inside a garage. Police said the man later killed himself.

Officials said it appears the man shot and killed another man before police ever arrived.

No officers were injured.
