RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) - Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell and his family volunteered Christmas Eve at the Healing Place in Richmond.

The governor said giving back to the community is what Americans do best.

"Americans have always been inspired to help other people, particularly during the holiday time," the governor said. "We've really enjoyed our time here at the Healing Place the last couple of years, to see the wonderful work that's going on here."
